Flip Mino camcorder question: Do you have to turn it on before you begin charging?

Charging by usb. And does the battery have to be completely empty before charging? Is it a NiCd or NiMH battery? I have the Flip Mino HD 2nd generation if it makes a difference.

Should I buy the new Flip Mino or the old Flip Ultra?

I want a good video camera and the Flip seems to be the best. Also, the Mino seems kinda pricey so which one should I get?

I would personally get the Mino and it’s at the top of my wish list right now! It has all of the same features and the only differences I can figure out are that the Mino is smaller and instead of using AA batteries it has a rechargeable battery that you can charge using the cool flip up USB … or you can plug it into the wall outlet.

Should I get the flip mino hd or the flip ultra hd?

Between the two, I’m looking for something pocketable, durable, with pretty good video quality. I know that the mino hd has a substantially slimmer profile, but for people who have the flip ultra hd, is the flip ultra hd still easy to fit in the pocket? Are there any major downfalls between the two?

If i were you i would actually get the Kodak Zi8 which records at 1080p an image stabilizer, and and SD card slot all for just $180.

But if i must choose between the two i would go with the Flip Ultra hd just because ive heard better reviews about it then the flip mino hd from friends and review sites.

One last thing i will also mention is that for about $150-250 you could buy high quality stand-alone digital camera as most digitil camera record video know and some even record in HD.

Do you know where or when the Flip Mino Underwater case is coming out?
