What do you think of the Flip Camcorder?
So I’ve been wanting to get a HD Camcorder to make videos and post it on YouTube but I realized the prize is really high for HD Camera’s So I discovered this FLIP camcorder but is it worth the money I mean I just need some reviews and comments on this thing is it good for making videos?? is it worth buying?

Flip HD is a good compact camcorder.Video quality can not reach high-end HD camcorder but great.

I used a ‘FlipVideo’ at the TV station to make some behind-the-scenes footage which was pretty neat. It was terribly handy for what it did. I normally use a Canon MiniDV, which is small enough to fit in my pocket if im wearing loose pants, but this is better!
Quality, wise, I did a rough edit, and i found that closeup shots were a bit blurry. My producer took some chest-level video of himself (his hands) operating a VTR machine, but the text on the buttons was blurred and very hard to read.
Video from one of the locations I did came out really choppy and jumpy for some reason (just that one group of video files) and i dont know why.
The video was incredibly easy to upload to my Windows computer without any driver-cds. Macs were reportedly the same, although the included editing software, as far as i could tell, could only be used for re-arranging the clips, and not for hardcore cutting. I just used my Premiere.
There’s no manual focus of any kind, but there IS a tripod mount which may come in handy. I use them to mount weighted steadicam assemblies, which may be useful, as with it’s weight, its exceedingly hard to hold still.
