What all do zhu zhu pets do and r they dangerous like the ads say?

I was thinking about purchasing a zhu zhu pet for daughter for christmas but i heard they are dangerous…. where can i find more info about them without going to the offical site?

It was rumored that zhu zhu pets had lead and other toxic metals in them. They have not been recalled yet and as far as I know they are still under investigation.

There are many other sites with articles about this topic. This is an excerp from the last link I posted:

Dara O’Rourke, co-founder of GoodGuide, tested Zhu Zhu Pets for chemicals with his group, and says Zhu Zhu pets have elevated levels of tin and antimony – a metal with potential health hazards. “If ingested in high enough levels can lead to cancer, reproductive health, and other human health hazards”.

Hope this helps.

zhu zhu pets are in stores now and would be pulled from the shelves IF they were dangerous! I purchased four of them this morning! My nine year old was with me and she thinks they are very cute! We got them for her sisters! They run around in different accessories(which are separatly purchased) and each pet has a different voice and color fur! They are kind of cute but kind of pricey if you get everything they come with. The accessories are hard to find so good luck!

I saw reviews where people got hurt from the wheels but that was it.

Zhu Zhu Pets are not dangerous, except for kids getting their hair caught in the wheels.

The toxic chemical reports turned out to be a mistake by the testing company, which has since cleared them. The Zhu Zhu Pets company (Cepia LLC) jumped right on the reports, and worked with the US Government’s Consumer Product Safety Council to re-test the toys and prove that they’re clean. Once they cleared that up, the products were back on the shelves.

And then they disappeared again – they sold out!
